Ulpan-Or Unique Method:
Q: What kind of a progress can I expect
to make after participating in a two-week workshop?
A: Utilizing our unique method, during our workshops the
participants are immersed into Hebrew
and usually progress by one full level in
just two weeks.
This is equivalent to a 3-4 month course in
a regular ulpan.
Q: How is it possible to make such fast
progress in just two weeks?
A: Well, it's our "secret"! Our proprietary system is
based on our own study kits, which include
text books and audio CDs designed specifically for English speaking
audience. The material is
presented in a very easy way for all levels and our method mimics
the way a child studies his
mother tongue. The audio portion tremendously assists in rapidly
becoming communicational
in Hebrew and simultaneously developing reading and writing skills.

Hebrew studying
method:
Q: What is
R.L.A?
A:
R.L.A -Rapid Language Acquisition
is a unique system for speedy
Hebrew language learning designed by Ulpan-Or founder
Orly Ganor. This system allows students to advance by one
full level in just two weeks!
Q: How fast will I progress once I take a
course with Ulpan -Or?
A: Ulpan-Or students have
achieved great progress by taking our intensive immersion
workshops, advancing
in just 2 weeks by at least
one full level in regards with their current
level (equivalent to several months of
studies in a regular
Ulpan)
Q: What is a GDL course?
A: GDL is short for Guided Distance Learning. It is a
special method developed by Ulpan-Or for students who are not able
to participate in our workshops in Jerusalem. This method
allows students to rapidly progress in Hebrew taking
just two lessons a week. Our GDL courses offer 10 half-hour sessions (much like our
tele- lessons). The student calls the teacher on the phone,
or uses a free internet telephone service (such as Skype).
We recommend having 2 lessons each week, so the course lasts
for 5 weeks.
Q: Which level of Hebrew should I be in to study at
Ulpan-Or?
A: Any level! We teach all levels, each has its
own program and study kits. The very beginners start from
learning the aleph-bet, whereas the most advanced can choose
from various "tailor-made" programs, combining Israeli media
items and academic Hebrew texts that fit their specific
Hebrew needs.
Q: How will I know what my level of Hebrew is?
A: you can get a free evaluation here at the Ulpan-Or
office! If you want ot save time, you can even do it over
the phone!
Q: Do I need a previous background in Hebrew?
A: Of course not. After your evaluation, we will
find the exact level in which you are, and will fit you the
best program to match your Hebrew level.

Ulpan-Or Hebrew Program
structure:
Q: Does every workshop participant study Hebrew using the
same program?
A: Definitely not. Each student is personally evaluated for
his level prior to starting the workshop and
receives an individualized program, based on his level,
needs, objectives, study habits etc.
During the workshop the progress is constantly monitored and
the program gets fine-tuned as needed.
Different students at the same starting level will study
using different programs, based on their individual
objectives and achieved progress.
Q: How many lessons are there in each workshop?
A:
Our intensive one-on-one Hebrew courses span two
weeks. Each day, students study for three hours with
their own personal Hebrew coach. We have developed a
unique teaching method that empowers our students to
rapidly learn how to read, write and speak Hebrew.
Each program is tailored to the specific needs
and goals of the student. For more information,
please visit:

during our workshops the participants are immersed into
Hebrew and usually progress by one full
level in just two weeks.
This is equivalent to a 2-3 month course in a regular ulpan.
Q: How long are the meetings?
A: During the two-week personal workshop students
come to our offices for 3 hours every day having
face-to-face sessions with their personal coach interleaved
with self-study and practice sessions.
Q: How many students are there in a class?
A: You are the only one student studying with your
personal coach in a nice and welcoming set up! The stage is
all yours and your coach is able to closely monitor your
progress and modify and fine-tune the originally
tailor-designed as needed.
Q: Can I combine learning Hebrew AND
touring Jerusalem with Ulpan-Or?
A: Sure! We're happy you have asked! We have
a special touring program called T-Ulpan ("Tiyul" means trip
in Hebrew). The T-Ulpan program combines having a regular
lesson every day (all together 10 lessons like a
regular
workshop) AND 5 trips around Jerusalem. Each trip is
actually both a Hebrew lesson and a trip, in a
special system we developed. You yourself
actually become a Hebrew tour-guide, guiding your personal
coach
through various charming locations in Jerusalem.
Q:
Are there any special programs for
children?
A: Ulpan-Or offers special programs for
children, starting from elementary school and on. Matching
the
concentration and interest levels of children in
different ages, our programs help your child to progress
rapidly,
while providing a loving second home for the 2
weeks of the program.

Working
with institutions and communities:
Q: Do you at all have group studies? Do you work with
institutions?
A: The workshops conducted at Ulpan-Or utilize a
"one-on-one" individualized set-up.
However we are currently conducting several group programs
in various other locations outside of our office working
with local communities, colleges and other institutions such
as the Sochnut and more.
In such cases we design either short-term or long-term
continuous programs, based on our study kits and methods. In
some cases we even send our staff teachers to conduct the
programs, or base those on the local staff providing our
close supervision and guidance.
We have special programs for elementary schools, high
schools and colleges.
