Zero-knowledge of Hebrew
  • Study useful up-to-date orientation vocabulary and expressions (~75 words) using short dialogues.
  • Start reding using a phonetic interpretation of the Hebrew vocabulary and gradually transition to reading it in Hebrew.
  • Acquire knowledge of very basic spoken Hebrew, as well as the ability to read Hebrew (with vowels).
  • With the understanding of the Hebrew alphabet, gain the ability to read in Hebrew all the learned dialogues.
Novice Low Achieve the ability of basic communication with Israelis and the ability to read signs and do some shopping.
The emphasis is on the spoken aspect of Hebrew, establishing a foundation for two-way communication.
Knowledge of very basic spoken Hebrew, as well as the ability to read Hebrew (with vowels).
  • Texts become longer and more complex and are based on grammatical structures (verb infinitives in Binyan Pa’al) that are learned alongside the text.
  • The material contains parts of Israeli songs, which enrich and well-suit the student’s Hebrew level.
  • Acquire active knowledge of the vocabulary of ~350 words: pronouns and nouns related to the core contents of the book.
  • Master foundational concepts and essential dialogues: acquaintance, family, shopping, directions, traveling, and shopping for food.
  • Learn numbers between 1-100, and become familiar with Israeli money (coins and bills).
  • Build a grammatical base: four helping verbs (want, need, can, love) and master use of those combined with Binyan Pa’al infinitives.
Novice Mid Achieve fluent and structured day-to-day, two-way communication with Israelis, using nouns, adjectives, and verbs.
The focus at this level is the start of comprehension of more complex speech, deduced from the learned material.
Knowledge of basic spoken Hebrew, including Pa’al infinitives, as well as the ability to read Hebrew (with vowels).
  • This curriculum is based on various humorous texts which depict people in funny or extreme situations.
  • Using the text and associated video clips, the student meets family members, friends, teachers, fellow students, principals, and staff members.
  • In addition, the student will encounter the character Inbar, who will appear in several units. Inbar will tell her story gradually throughout the material units, thus allowing students to gain the ability to tell their own stories.
  • Acquire an active vocabulary of 500 new words: pronouns, nouns, and adjectives related to the core content.
  • Master foundational concepts and basic dialogs related to: acquaintance, family, historical figures, and other characters.
  • Master Binyan Pa’al - infinitives and present tense.
Novice High The emphasis at this level is to feel comfortable using all the verb structures (Binyanim) in the present tense and achieve fluency in complex dialogues.
The focus at this level is conversation and comprehension of more complex speech while using structured sentences, based on the studied grammatical elements.
  • Knowledge of approximately 300 words and expressions, including pronouns, nouns, and adjectives.
  • Knowledge of Binyan Pa’al infinitives and present tense.
  • The student will acquire a rich vocabulary and expressions that are relevant to everyday life in Israel.
  • Seeing Israel through the videos which accompany the texts allow the student to learn basic grammar and structure while experiencing Israel in a fun way.
  • Achieve knowledge of infinitives and present tense conjugations of 4 different verb structures (Binyanim) and acquire a basic understanding of time phrases.
  • Speak freely in Hebrew (using present tense and infinitives) applying everyday phrases.
  • Experience Israeli culture via texts, virtual landscape, and songs - all contribute to a rich learning experience.
  • Gain access to the Israeli media – start comprehending easy-level Hebrew news.
